Baby Girl Selby

Well, the news is out! We are having a GIRL! Things of course didn't go as planned...
So, Monday, January 20th....we had our anatomy sonogram. Mick and Mallory both were off work/school so we decided that this would be a great time to go as a family. They would check over health of baby as well as confirm sex. We all know of course that Mallory can't keep a secret since she told everyone we were pregnant before she was suppose to so we decided that we would keep this information from Mallory until we were ready to tell all of our family and friends. We, or should I say I.....wanted to wait until March or so when we could tell family in person. Mick and I of course would find out but just not tell anyone else.
So off we went....things were going great...Mallory was super excited. They began the sono and was showing Mallory the arms, legs, head, heart, etc. And all she wanted to know was it a boy or girl. Mallory had her heart set on a girl and Mick had his heart set on a boy. I, truly didn't care either way but had a feeling it was a girl due to the way I was carrying and how sick I had been...which was just like Mallory. I asked the nurse to not say the sex out loud so she wrote it on a piece of paper. I stuck it in my purse and of course I had to use the bathroom so Mallory and I went. Mallory was trying so hard to get me to peek without daddy. I of course didn't but then got the same pressure from Mick when we got on the elevator. I wanted to wait and do something fun and special at home...Mick was not waiting. So we went to the gift shop and Mick and I opened it....IT'S A GIRL! Mallory saw us and said let me see....so what does Mick do.....shows it to her and SHE READ IT!!!! WHAT?!?! That was not the plan....she said...oh that's a G...and began sounding out the letter ga, ga, ga....it's a girl!!! She was soooo excited...>I was so shocked! I kept trying to convince her that it may not say that but she was certain that was a G and that was the sound....etc....So all the way to the restaurant she kept saying...I know it's a girl, I know it's a girl....Then wrote on her magna-doodle Baby Girl!! Are you kidding me? Well...looks like we will have to confirm Mallory's suspicion and hurry and tell our family before Mallory tells everyone at school on Tuesday!!!! So we confirmed it at lunch and she says, "Yeah, I know...I read it!" Little stinker butt......At the time, I was a little sad as this is not how I planned to tell our families or how to reveal it on Facebook to our friends but now that it has sunk in...it's pretty funny and glad that my baby girl is learning her letters.
Mallory had been praying for a healthy baby, boy or girl every night....it would sound something like this...
Dear Jesus, Please keep mom and baby safe and healthy whether its boy or girl but I really want a girl. Amen.
So she said at lunch yesterday...."All those prayers paid off cuz' I know Dad didn't pray like I did." ;)
God answered her prayers and ours.....it's a girl, so far everything looks great and we can't wait to meet sweet baby!
Facebook Poll:
Twins-11 people!!! You guys are CRAZY! I may be big but there is defiantly only ONE baby in there! ;)

The note she wrote in the car......she was right!
Baby Girl
So I asked Mallory last Wednesday if she knew how to do a one-handed cart wheel. She assured me she did...hmmmmm...
So when we went to Grandma Nono's, where she loves to tumble due to size of the living room she showed me. And she did it...not super great and not every time but still impressed. I asked her how she learned how to do that and she replied: By sticking my hand in my pants like this...Oh my!!! Sure hope she doesn't do this at dance class...they will think she's crazy. Lol!!! 🤸‍♂️
Whatever works....

Catching Up

Well, well, well....man have I taken a vacation...a looonnggg vacation from this blog. And boy has a lot changed since then. As most of you know, our biggest news is that Baby Selby #2 will be making his or her appearance in June! It has been a long journey for sure and we are so grateful. Some don't know but we weren't able to get pregnant for three years. We didn't really share that information with others and I'm not sure why but we didn't. The doctor I was seeing kept putting things on the back burner and eventually sent us to a fertility specialist in Springfield. After several ultrasounds, they raised the question of "Where are your ovaries?" They couldn't find my ovaries. After many tests, they eventually found the left but couldn't find the right. After finding a mass on my right Fallopian tube, they suggested surgery. In which things didn't really go as planned and not only could they not find my ovary but they also had to remove my right Fallopian tube and noticed my left was very damaged from scar tissue. So hope was VERY slim of getting pregnant. We were to start clomid and low and behold...after three years of trying....we got pregnant. So even though we had been trying for so many years, when it "accidentally" happened-it took me awhile to grasp the reality of it all. I had it in my head that a second child wasn't in our store for us. So that's the journey of our second baby....Mallory is beyond excited. She is so sweet with everything. She will ask every day how baby is doing. I have once again been super sick, like I was with Mallory and she will come and check on me and make sure I'm okay. She will bring me an ice pack without even asking her to, just to make sure my back is doing okay. She is awesome and LOVE seeing her so anxious.
With that...Mallory is 5!!! She has grown so much..super tall and skinny. Some of her favorites are Barbies, Shopkins, watching YouTube Kid videos, Maureen Morris, Kelsea Ballerini, Moana, all things art and acting like a goofball. She is attending Pre-K at Salem Lutheran and loves it although the drama between some of the girls in her class are full force. She has been with some of her classmates since birth at her old daycare and think that their relationships have become more of a sibling relationship than friend. They love each other yet argue like sisters. ;) Her faith has grown by being at Salem and my favorite part of my day by far is bedtime. I will lay down with her and we talk about her day. It's where she confides in me and tells all...I hope this doesn't ever go away or that she always wants to tell me how she feels. And of course we say our prayers....and I love listening to what she has to pray about that night. LOVE!
On a side note: Some funny things that Mallory has said lately:
Mom, you know Donald Trump doesn't rule the world. Only God does!
Mom, you are my Magical Dream Team!
She calls Taco Bell...Taco Ring Ring.
The song "To Kill A Word" ...she thought that it said, "If I could only, kill a WORM!"
She told me she was going to buy we all these animals and bring them home. So she would say:
Mom, I'm going to buy you a giraffe. I would say, You can't buy me a giraffe, it's too big.
Mom, I'm going to buy you a monkey. I would say, You can't buy me a monkey, it sticks.
So she finally says, "Mom, I'm going to get you a bunny. I said, "Perfect!"
