GIRLS WEEKEND 2015-Lyric Style

Girls Trip 2015....oh what a weekend. I always enjoy getting away and spoiling mom (and ourselves) for the weekend. Spending time with her and my sisters are some of my favorite moments and boy....the memories we make! I seriously think we could do nothing at all and still end up having the time of our lives....
Thanks girls for yet another wonderful weekend!
I am going to try and caption a song quote or song title under each pictures....wish me luck!
 This should get interesting...and hysterical.

 "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun"
Yep....this is the beginning of the trip in my driveway....
and we  ended the trip back in my driveway the same exact way!

 "Cotton Eyed Joe"
This young feller here....we ventured out of our comfort zone and decided to stay in a train caboose...in the middle of nowhere....with no cell phone reception....all girls....
Anyways....this gentleman named Joe came to our rescue. He met us at our "gate" and gave us the key to our caboose. He was so helpful and nice....the other ladies were leery at first....but anyone named Joe, who invites you to dinner at his house has to be safe right?
 "Night Train"
Very small living quarters and super retro BUT so cool!
"You & Me Going Fishing In The Dark"
Welcome to Uncle Buck's Fish Bowl! Yummy delicious drinks...and food....
I'm Going The Distance...I'm Going For Speed
Disco Inferno (Soundtrack from King Pin)
This here folks....is our own Roy Munson....from KingPin!
 "Like A Wrecking Ball"
Mom did....
well....
mom....
did just fine......
Under The Sea.....
We enjoyed having the place to ourselves!!!
 Notre Dame Fight Song...
Come on Unity, let's hear fight...Fight In The Line of Maroon & The White....
Go Mustangs......long story but we ended up both bringing Unity & Triopia jerseys.....
 Come On Ride The Train
This is where we stayed....it was so unique and fun to experience this. We seriously woke up each morning to the most beautiful wildlife right outside our door. So peaceful....
 Wake Up A Little Susie
This was the 50's Diner we ate at. (Thanks to McKinzie). And since we didn't have any coffee in our caboose....to town we went for some serious coffee!

 One More Last Chance
(only because the video is about golf...lol)
David Likes....the pro....he kindly gave us a tour of Weaver Ridge Golf Course....It was so beautiful! We REALLY enjoyed this and the special treatment that we received. Thanks Davey!
The Selfie-Stick was in full force!
 We Are Family...

The Drinkin' Bones Connected To The Party Bone
I Believe There Are Angels Among Us
I'm A Member Of The Country Club....Country Music Is What I Love!
 He Stopped Loving Her Today
Too funny....daddy was scrolling through facebook....and saw something about George Jones. She got really sad and said, "Aw man, George Jones died." I said, "Bummer." Mom gave us a weird look and says..."Didn't he die like five two years ago?" Yep...he sure did.
Life Is A Highway...I Wanna Ride It All Night Long...
Random highway landmark along side the road.
What is cooler than one big, ginormous half naked woman?
Well....four fully clothed, average size women taking a picture with said ginormous woman.
"Cat" Scratch Fever
This was a fun little adventure....it was interesting to see all the things that are involved with Caterpillar. What a great company....perfect place for little boys.
Take Me For A Ride In Your Big Green Tractor
Except....these were yellow and not really tractors....
And I will sail my vessel
'Til the river runs dry
Like a bird upon the wind
These waters are my sky
I'll never reach my destination
If I never try
So I will sail my vessel
'Til the river runs dry

Old Man River
The River Boat dinner cruise we went on.What an adventure!
Folsom Prison Blues
LONG STORY.....so hilarious. Sometimes you just need to make your own fun!
I Don't Need Your Rockin' Chair
Yet another reference to George Jones. It was so peaceful to rock in the rockers along the deck side at night. A little chilly but  nothing a cup (or five) coffee couldn't warm you up.
I Hear The Train A Comin'....
Our lodging....
This Use To Be My Playground
So funny....we happened upon the most fun slides EVER! So of course, we tried them out. About left a few streaks on this one after mom went down...we were laughing so hard.

The Electric Slide
This thing was HUGE....by far the biggest slide I have ever been on....So fun!

Welcome To The Jungle
This was our safari ride. It was neat to ride around the park and see all that they had to offer and the history behind everything. There was so much more there than we realized.
Buffalo Solider
We got to fee the buffalo. Which was so disgusting but I can now check that off my bucket list. Also, very thankful that I carry around hand sanitizer.
Spread Your Wings And Fly...
We adopted butterflies and released them. We also received our very own wings...
School's Out For Summer
There was a little old school house...so of course...we couldn't just walk through and be normal....we had to do this....with butterfly wings on of course!
Wind Beneath My Wings
This is me being an eagle....or a weird-o or normal....you can fill in the blank.
Home, Home On The Range
Where the deer and the antelope literally roam....
Baby Likes To Rock It Like a Boogie Woogie Choo Choo Train

Ghostbusters
We went to the insane asylum in Bartonville, IL. Creepy...creepy...creepy. Luckily, I watched the episode that Ghost Hunters did AFTER we went here...and that we went during the day....and that we didn't go in....and that I had already used the bathroom.
Thriller
This cemetery is on the top five list of cemeteries that have taken my breath away. Not because it was creepy or beautiful but because the magnitude of it and the magnitude of sadness it brought me. These were all deaths that happened at the asylum. Hundreds and hundreds....some with no name, just a patient number, so many were on the same day and day after day after day of deaths....Some were forgotten about and overgrown with grass so you could hardly tell anything was even there at one time. I just can't imagine....I said a lot of prayers in this cemetery.

Not to leave on a sad note....
(Like what I did there...note....songs....ha....ha...)

Labor Day Outdoor Adventure

Every year, my mom & dad and sister and brother-in-law go camping (in their campers) at Lake Argyle in Colchester, IL. In years past, we have gone up for the day but hadn't done so in a couple years. This time...we decided to camp the entire weekend....in a tent.....with a 3 year old....and it was 93 degrees....without the humidity. The following picture is how I felt about all of the above:

It actually wasn't that bad....minus the little green worms that decided to invade our tent....I handled it quite well. I told Mick it was much easier to sleep in the tent at night when it was dark and you couldn't see all the dirt and bugs that you were laying in....Mallory decided after night one...that she would much rather snuggle up to Grandma in her air conditioned camper.;)

Mallory....Night #1! Pretty excited to be able to see the stars when she slept!
I very much enjoyed that their was no WIFI!!!! Just each others company....Mallory enjoyed time with her cousins....PLAYING!
Mick making some pizza over the open fire....yummy!
CHEESE!!
Mallory LOVES bread and butter...
Or just butter....
Learning to shoot a dart gun...YIKES!
Meanwhile....Elliott...just hanging out!

No wifi=use your imagination!

Mallory was using this as her ipad.....it was her "Appisodes" that she was reading to Elliott. He looks enthused.
SELFIE! Mick loves selfies....HA!
Mom & Me Selfie.

Mallory experience her first "bike ride". It made me a bit nervous at times but she did great listening.

LOVED the playground!

Slide races...

Doing a little antiquing with mom and dad....
Bike Ride #2....with Collin & Grandma....Watch out world!!!
They had an imagination park....
Pretend boat ride....

A tee-pee....

A balance beam....
A chalkboard wall....
I loved this....it was all created by the local boy scouts....(we believe).
Music Station....
Mallory loved beating on this thing....
It kept getting louder....
and LOUDER.....
AND LOUDER!!!
Performance Stage....
Doing straddle jumps.....
She loved how fast this slide went....

About has fast as momma's heart beating....
The look on her face....explains it all....PURE ENJOYMENT!!
As mentioned....It was HOT!!!
So I allowed Mallory to dump ICE COLD water on her.....she thought it was so funny...and obviously felt good.
She kept thinking she was going to get in trouble...I would tell her it was okay and she would just giggle.
We truly enjoyed our weekend. I loved the fact that no technology was used....we just had each other. My mom and I came back from a bike ride on Sunday evening and the kids were playing hide and go seek and just giggling. I loved that they were using their imagination and playing so well together....hence how we ended up staying another night. I couldn't interupt that kind of play. I have so many memories of playing those types of games with my cousins and the neighborhood kids and think it lacks in the youth today....so I let her play.....There is just something about good old fashioned fun and togetherness....it could also have something to do with just being outdoors. I took a run one morning....at sunrise....I know....I wouldn't normally be up that early but sleeping in a tent....kind of gets your morning going....I ran down through a wooded area and ended up at the lake....no sounds...no traffic noise....nothing but the outdoors and the sun rising over the water...It was nice to take some time to just reflect on life and how amazingly beautiful the world is...we just have to take the time to look....

And of course....no holiday weekend would be complete without a
SPEEDING TICKET!
Yep...I was granted one of those on our way home....
Whoops.....
