I had great hopes for this weekend. Had a whole list of things that I could do and would do. Instead, I did this...
And none of the things on my list got checked off. We were watching The Lorax and Mallory just kept cuddling and I couldn't let her go. I was thinking about all the times I would stop playing with her or stop cuddling with her to go cook, or clean or do laundry or pick up after her...this weekend....I cuddled, and cuddled and cuddled. I kept thinking of the quote: "When you are hugging a child, always be the last one to let go. You never know how long they need it." and she kept coming back for more and more snuggles. She is usually more active but this weekend she must have needed some extra loving too as she just wanted to snuggle me back.
I hate to admit how many times that I have let go of that little girl to go to something else. And it really made my heart happy and a great way to end a crappy week...to do nothing but snuggle...I had big plans to make Cheeseburger Soup for lunch and I could not get myself to get up and do it...so I didn't. I stayed with Mallory and we had grilled cheese and grapes instead. (I did make it for dinner and it was delicious...pinterest that and cook it...you will love it).

So this was Friday night...we snuggled upstairs watching Little Einsteins.
Mallory thought she needed to wear mommies slippers. Which mind you I bought for my old grandma costume this year and although ugly....VERY COMFORTABLE!!
We did do some other things but nothing on my list of chores. We read books to our stuffed animal friends. Mallory is finding some new interest in something other than "Rella". We have been reading Snow White & Sleeping Beauty.
This is the look I got when I said can you give mommy a smile...apparently she was unimpressed with my photo shoot.
Mallory decided that snuggling wasn't just with mommy...she snuggled with her friends too.
This is Mallory trying to hide the fact that she got some candy out of the jar.
And this was her reaction when I told her it was okay.
We were going to do the "potty" thing this weekend but since that was on the list....it didn't get done. But she sure does like to sit on it and pray.
This DEFINITELY was not on our list but daddy insisted. We changed Mallory from crib to toddler bed. I have been fighting Mick for awhile now on this and today...he just did it. And I cried...
Mallory on the other hand...seemed to enjoy the process.
She even helped!
Literally took the "battery" and tightened the screws.
She liked that she could get in & out. I on the other had did not. For awhile, I think my resistance was the fact that she is no longer a baby. The second part is that she sleeps so well and stays in her crib so well.
And it looks like we have nothing to worry about. She slept just fine at nap time. We can watch her on the video monitor and when she woke up...she thought about it for a second but did not once get out. She would just play. So of course, I watched her for a long time to see what she would do and I caught her being so cute to her "little bears". She kissed both of them and then gave them a big hug. She whispered something to them but I didn't hear what it was. She even tossed one of the side and I thought for sure she would get out. But she didn't. I went in to get her and she still didn't get out. She said...little bear fell. And then she said" I get her?" Once I said of course...she finally got out. Cute but still a little weary...hopefully it lasts.
We attended the annual Baptist Superbowl party. And it was fitting that it was so relaxing and nice party....fit well with our weekend. ;) Mallory loves her some Makenna. They had a great time together and Makenna is so good with her. Here they are coloring together.
She apparently thought it the cowboys were playing as she loved wearing her cowboy hat.
Again, back to snuggles. She is just laid back chillin'.
And this Mallory soon after...snuggling with Makenna. I left early just because I thought she would fall asleep right there on the floor. And we went home and snuggled more. I loved this weekend and how refreshing it was. I need to force myself to do more cuddling. I always snuggle up Mallory..every day but not for long periods of time. It really felt good to put everything else aside and just snuggle....just the recharge I needed!!!
